If you have an asian grocery, I'm not kidding the best bet is to go in and ask them. Describe the final product that you want. They will sell you the correct rice to do it, and also tell you how to make it.
When I was in college, I wandered around the thai grocery and ended up with a bag of rice. The old guy at the counter asked me if I'd made it before. I said no, so he told me I HAD to soak the rice, and then steam it up. Not boil it, but steam it. That's how they made it at the restaurant next door (which has great food).
There's no substitute for experience. Go ask the folks that know. They'll send you out of the store with the correct rice and a technique, and then you can practice until it comes out right.
