Sticky Power Switch

I have an almost new Aspire X-Dreamer just like this one:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16811144042

Right now, the switch wants to remain "on" after powering up, which shuts the system back off again. When I say new, I mean it was unpacked and admired two weeks & a little bit ago, and even used as a test bed for one PC, but not put into fulltime use right away. The switch worked normally last weekend, but now with the system it's supposed to be matched up with, after assembling it all today, the switch sticks every time.

Any fix, other than paying to ship it back (RMA) to Newegg?

Just get in touch with Apevia/Aspire and have them send you a switch. In the meantime, you could use the reset switch for the power switch as they are both the same type of switch.

Now, in part of my mind, I knew that, but that part never bothered reminding the conscious parts about what it knew. I keep a couple of microswitches around that look like the ones on DFI mainboards, except with 18 " of connection wiire and a dual-pin connector on the end. They make breadboarding without a case easier. I went ahead with the OS install on the drive, figuring I'd work something out eventually.

It can't hurt to try going straight to the producer, if the switch isn't more less permanently embedded into the front bezel . .

Thanks.
