sticky please

i know people give you guys enough crap, but it would be nice to put a sticky on the heatware is down thread in fs/ft. Some might complain that there are too man stickies, but it keeps pushing everyones thread down more b/c everyone replys to it. It is also good to know incase your about to make a deal...cant check the refrences. Thanks.

We gave it a sticky for 3 days. If the problem continues longer than that, it will be a serious problem for all traders. 🙁

Thats one concept I really dont understand. If it is stickied to the top it reserves one spot that NO thread ever reaches there for would not beat down anymore than a sticky. The more stickies the fewer the threads make it to REAL top. So if you were a person who only views the top 20 threads and there were 10 stickies you would only see 10 active rotating threads at a time.

In reference to the stated thread there are only 80 replies to it. Not anything like those Ive seen with hundreds posted in one day. By now most regulars know its down and yet there still is no reason posted for it being down. If there was an announcement that Heatware is down for a stated reason and will be down for a stated period of time or something that would be of a service your request is valid. But otherwise its simply an off topic post that at this time serves little more than to be a neff thread. Perhaps it would be better served to be locked until we can find out what is going on with heat? But the other side of that coin is others will just post new threads with the same question. Maybe we should just let it ride as it is.

your first point just backs up my point. Even if out of the threads you see, half of them are stickies, if there is a thread that is not stickyed that is continuously bumped(in this case replies)...everytime you visit the forum, you will not only see half stickies, but that thread over and over again. That thread has been on the first page the whole day, so it is taking up 1 less view of a normal fs/ft thread anyways, except this is worse, becuase everytime it is replied to, everyone elses thread gets moved down one as it moves back to the top. Since this thread is replied to so much for a fs/ft thread, making it a sticky would not increase the # of actual fs/ft threads you view anyways.

as far as your 2nd point, i dont think i have ever seen a fs/ft thread with a couple hundred posts in a short amount of time...80 is a lot for the fs/ft forum.

i agree with your last point, unless we know of some offical reason/when it will be back up, maybe lock this thread, or move it to OT.
