I am DIY, have found many uses for Velcro. Both sticky backed and otherwise. I was running out of sticky backed and just bought 15 feet of 2" black Velcro brand off Ebay for ~$20. I went to use some of my older stuff the other day and found that the stickiness isn't so great, some of it almost none. Is there a way to preserve/extend the stickiness? A storage method of some kind? Obviously, 15 feet of this stuff is going to last me a long time! It would be nice if it retained its stickiness. I sometimes use contact cement if it doesn't hold, but would rather not, obviously. Maybe it's possible to apply a liquid of some kind to restore stickiness?

Not all velcro sticky is equal. You could always get some gel contact cement.

What I have is several bottles of Weldwood contact cement, "The Original." Is that what you mean? I have used that stuff for years, lots of times for all kinds of purposes. Hell of useful, but maybe not what you are referring to. It would be more "permanent" than the stickum on the Velcro, which has it's pluses and minuses.

Yea but I use the gel as it a lot easier to deal with. If applied correctly, allowing to tack up on both sides its not coming off easily.

Have never used the gel, gotta check that out. Yeah, I've heard of it.
