I just got the DVI-HDMI cable from monoprice to be able to use my roomate's Bravia 46'' for watching videos. Took me a while to figure out that only the upper port on the TV works for this, but now everything seems to be working fine other than obviously off-balanced colors.

The problem I am having is keeping 1920x1200 on my monitor while doing 1080p on the TV. Cloning at different resolutions betwen two displays cannot be done, I have learned that through googling. Luckily, kmplayer has a nifty feature that lets you select which screen to send full-screen output to. Merely extending the display with the TV would have been just fine.

The only thing is, now I can no longer select anything higher than 1920x1080 on my monitor. To be exact, this could still be done by disconnecting the cable before restarting to avoid automatic detction, then manually detect the TV afterwards. Hoping that ultramon could be the answer to my dilemma, I tried it at no avail. The video card I am using is HIS HD3870, and the "display manager" section in CCC is compeletely blanked out (cant select anything, desktop area is fixed at 0x0).

Is this a known issue or is it just me?
