Amazing guitar player but his music never really got me. I prefer the more subtle, yet seemingly more creative licks of David Gilmour. Slap me if I"m wrong.

Don't get me wrong Jimi is the man.... but Vaughan is aligned perfectly with my personal taste.

Hendrix was ok in the day, VERY innovative and creative, but was actually a sloppy guitarist. No where near the talent of many other great musicians. He relied more on electrical enhancement showmanship, and trickery than on his own "gitar-pickin" to make his music rock. Don't get me wrong, he did make some wonderful music, but his technique was just sloppy when compared to some of the better musicians out there...

But that begs an interesting question, which is more important? If you have great technical skill or make great music? I mean, guys like Van Morrison, Joe Cocker, Springsteen, etc never really had those "ideal" singing voices, but made amazing music.
LoL, I got that game for my son as a reward for perfect attendance this past school year, he has been playing it for a couple of hours every day since, and he is getting damn good at it, he has done 30 songs on expert :QOriginally posted by: abaez
