Inspired by Iamme's blues guitar question. Any Stevie Ray Vaughan fans here? I only really payed attention to him maybe the last two years and I've been awestruck at how good his music is. His guitar playing skills were superb.

I can't believe he's been dead for fifteen years now. Another legend gone before his time.

I saw him in concert once in the 80s. He was definitely one of the greats!

He opened for Robert Plant of all people and completely blew Plant away.

Wish I could have been there. :( Too late now.

Definitely, SRV kicks it.

Anyone heard of Eric Tessmer? He's local here in Austin, and I covers a lot of SRV/Hendrix songs (he also has his own). But he plays just like Stevie, which is saying a lot. If you have a chance, see him live.

My dad and I went to his last concert at Alpine Valley. I was only 10 years old at the time, but I remember hearing about the crash on the news the next morning, and it was so unreal to me. I couldn't grasp that I just had the time of my life watching him and Clapton, but he was gone. One can only imagine what he would be playing now, if he were still alive.

Did you know, David Bowie featured Stevie Ray Vaughan on his Let's Dance album in 1983?

You're a lucky man.
