My question is with the wars on these fronts where will he find extra military to be in his parades?

'No access': Rex Tillerson sets collision course with Beijing in South China Sea

Who here thinks it's the United State's place to unilaterally engage China over a territory dispute in their own backyard?
Or... given the importance of navy... their front lawn?

I'm fine with being responsive to calls for help by other nations, but given Philippines recent actions that hardly seems in play. China is most certainly forcibly moving into the South China Sea, perhaps claiming as much as 90% of the ocean waters between themselves and everyone else.
  • The question is, what should the United States be doing on the subject?
  • Shouldn't there be some softening in tone with respect to China's regional authority?
    • Do note they are the world's next superpower, and large enough to entirely eclipse us one day.
  • What sort of precedence should we be setting in terms of how we "share" the world with other superpowers?

Agreed, I guess. Though I will admit that I (nor any of us I guess) truly know the minutiae of detail of what's all going on over there and what it all truly translates too. Certainly we're just not "policing" the area. I'd think we have some serious interest in keeping those lands out of Chinese domain?

I really don't like our current Admins "tone" (to use your word) that is being used towards other countries right now -- between Iran, Mexico, Australia and China, how many fights can we pick at the same time?

I was vaguely saying we should use some leeway after crossing the planet to knock on China's door. It bothers me to just tow a hard-line stance against China's regional authority. And yes, I don't really know all the dynamics involved with the nations China is stepping on.

I do not know how we should respond.
But in principle, it'd be nice to have a solid alternative policy / plan to counter the Trump Admin's apparent warmongering.

So we need to defend Christians on artificial islands in South China Sea? Are they like Grenada "medical students?"

But you do realize Trump may send in the National Guard? Perhaps declare Marshall Law?

It's spelled MARTIAL LAW, dumbass. I don't think it's referring to Eminem (his last name) or the Marshall Islands or even the Tekken character.

Whenever Republicans take White House, they want wars. Without wars, Republicans can't make money.

I didn't realize Obama was a Republican:

After 8 Years Of Unbroken War, Obama Hands Over Conflicts To Trump - NPR

Obama came to office eight years ago vowing to end U.S. military interventions in Iraq and Afghanistan. Yet President-elect Trump stands to inherit the nation's longest war ever in Afghanistan, as well as renewed fighting in Iraq that has spread to Syria.

The outgoing president was reminded of the persistence of those wars at the pomp-filled farewell ceremony the Pentagon put on for him him earlier this month at a nearby military base.

"Mr. President, we've been at war throughout your tenure," said Gen. Joesph Dunford, chosen by Obama in 2015 to be chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. "That's a period longer than any other American president."

blocked by repugs.

When you are bathed in nuclear fire will you in that flash of a second still think you picked the right president?

He had ample opportunity with the majority in Congress being Demorat. But instead decided to pass BS legislation and the ACA.

Nothing was accomplished and we have trillions to show for it. When shit went south he golfed. Trump has been President for l little over a week and has made good on his campaign promises already and the stock market agrees. In fact it hit an all time high!
