Hi. I frequently install PCI hardware. recently I installed a PCI wifi card. Here is my question:
With most of my installations, sometimes, with older computers, I find that after the card is securely in place in teh slot, the metal bracket screw area does not align properly with the screw hole on the motherboard. I find that sometimes I have to push the metal bracket forward, or backwards about 4 or 5 millimeters in order to make the screw holes of teh PCi card's metal bracket and the screw hole on the computer fram align, while holding down the PCI card into the slot so as to not move it. THis adds stress to the actual component.
Is this okay or is does this cause damage?
