All other major sport organizations have stringent performance enhancing drug testing. What makes baseball players feel that they shouldn't have to play on a level field?

I believe that the player's union has resisted efforts to get testing started.

WHY??!!

The same reason the player's union does everything else: because they can.

I'm generally a proponent of unions, but the MLBPA has too much power.

It's their lives..they can screw it up if they want to.

And in baseball, being stronger gives you the least advantage compared to the other sports anyway. Having an aid in getting buff isn't going to help you see the ball any better..

more power = more home runs
more home runs = more exciting baseball action
more exciting baseball action = higher ticket attendance/sales

at least that's the only reasoning i could think of why they wouldn't want to ban steroids or hgh.
