I've finally gotten my recent problems with my teeth under control.
After quite a few bad experiences with antibiotics I found an oral surgeon who about two days ago did IV sedation and removed the teeth that were causing me such trouble.

First time doing that and got to say I highly recommend it if you fear the dentist like I did.
His nurses were really nice and they started the IV, then he started asking me about something playing on the radio in the office, and the next thing I knew his nurse was asking me if I felt okay.

The procedure was over before I knew it started :)

    Anyway to the point.
The medications he gave me for after the surgery are percocet, amoxicillin, ibuprofen, and methylprednisolone. which appears to be a steroid.

What I wanted to know if anyone else has ever been given steroids after dental work.
I read up its used for arthritis, but not seeing the connection to dental surgery.

Prednisone is a corticosteroid which reduces inflammation and the associated pain/swelling. It is not an anabolic (i.e. muscle building) steroid.

Yup. You aren't going to see any improvements in the gym from this.

    That makes perfect sense then.
I just couldn't figure out why I would be taking a , muscle building, type steroid for dental work :)
