that's a tough one. When both were in their primes, I'd say it was a wash as to who was better, but career wise, Sterling sticks out because he went out on top because of injury.

Shannon was a bigger stronger slower version of Sterling (who was older).

hence sterling played WR and Shannon played TE.

I think Sterling was the better player, but they played different positions and Sterling's career was cut short. It's hard to say who had a better career....

if sterling did not get injured, then i would say he would have had the better career. however... he was, so based on that, i'd vote shannon.
