Stereoscopic 3D on Xbox 360?

I was wondering how this works, I see Crysis 3 has 3D support on Xbox 360. My impression was the game has to run double the framerate for 3d to work, so does the game render in 1/2 resolution or something like that when 3d is enabled?

The consoles use 720p60 for all 3D content over HDMI since 1.4a only does 1080p30 when 3D is enabled. HDMI 1.4b added 1080p60 for 3D.
