steps to install a dvd burner

I just bought myself a new pacific digital 8x dvd burner. Now i need to install it. I'm a complete newbee in this so don't laugh at me if i ask stupid questions.

In my current system config, I have a dvd-rom drive and a cd-rw drive. I also have a one internal hard drive and a floppy disk. I only have two external 5 1/4 bays. I need a external bay, so i figure i replace my cd-rw since the dvd burner can play/burn cd's anyway.

From here i do not know what to do. Could someone walk me through the steps of replacing the cd-rw drive wtih the dvd burner.

Well, shut down the computer first and foremost. Unplug the power cord that connects to the PSU as well as the outlet. Then remove the screws that hold your case onto the chasis. I would then make sure you're grounded and take the screws that are holding in your cd-rw out. From that point you should unplug the IDE cable and power cable which is connected to your cd-rw. Re-connect both cables to your new DVD-RW drive. Just reverse the steps and you should be good. Remember to ground yourself by touching your case's chasis.

I'm getting all confused.
If i got this all right, I have to unplug the power and the IDE cable from the cd-rw drive and plug it into the dvd-rw drive. Isn't there also some audio jack for the sound?

I get it now. A analog audio jack is there, but the guide reccomends i use digital audio instead. Thanks Budman. I'll get back to you guys if there's anything else i might encounter.
