Steps to ensuring new parts aren't defective.

I haven't seen a guide around, it would be nice to have some clear steps to testing out new parts.

1. Prime95 for 5-6 hours with Round-Off checking enabled.

2. Memtest86 for a few hours.

3. HD error checking.

What else?

The best thing is to simply use them and let them run normally. Infant mortality usually occurs within the first few hours. In most cases, when you power up and you pass the "smoke test" you are good to go. 🙂
