I have received 1500 dollars for my macbook pro and I'm in the market for an entertainment/gaming notebook. I wanted to take suggestions that some of you guys had. The MBP had 2.2 core 2 duo GeForce 8600 128mb and 2 gigs of ram. Could I do better than that for alittle bit more than 1500? Any suggestions are welcome.

Out of curiosity, why did you sell your MBP? I could be wrong, but you aren't going to get a system much better than it for $1500

TheStu, he said entertainment/gaming. Now sure you can put Vista on a MBP, but why waste space with having two OS's. I believe he said in another thread he didn't need the MAC OS (might be confusing forums here with the guys over at pcmech). So obviously the best thing to do is get an all Windows laptop, which IMHO will give you much more room.

I've had good luck checking out the Dell outlet. A quick look revealed a XPS M1530 with a C2D 2.2 GHz, 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT, 3 GB RAM, DVD-RW, 200 GB HD, Wireless N for $1329. If you are patient they usually have 15% coupons for the outlet store. I got an $1800 M1330 for about $1100 with tax from the outlet.

No need for 2 OSes, if he wants to run Vista only then that is fine, the Apple bootcamp drivers will do the job nicely. My point was that when it comes to horsepower, looks (subjective), size, weight, and overall awesome-ness-ity of a system, it is IMO, hard to beat the MBP.

Well if he likes OSX, and will only use Vista for a gaming then why not go with a MBP? It was deemed afterall the best laptop to run Vista on.
