I used to work with people in wheel chairs, and even though they are paralyzed from the waste down, many are still able to have and enjoy sex. I am not sure the medical aspect of it. My guess would be the nerves in the penis are not damaged?

Hawking has als - the nerves that cause muscles to contract (motor neurons) are dead. The other nerves are okay. Many als patients retain bladder control. So, it might still work.

Just because he is paralyzed does not mean is body stops producing the same hormones the rest of humankind produces. Which means as long as he is alive he is going to have an attraction to someone. He'll never be able to do much about it except look, but at least he only has to pay for strippers and not hookers. Save a bit of cash that way.
