I think Khan's a pretty cool guy. Eh helps people with school and doesn't afraid of anything.

Agreed, when I first found it I was amazed, he has put a tremendous amount of work into the site and it's a very valuable resource.

I used his Organic chem tutorials in the past. Very helpful and thorough, he got concepts across in minutes whereas professors I've had would take a whole lecture period and still not be able to get it across.

idk, what I got from the interview was that he basically combines reading wikipedia aloud with a power point presentation.

And he puts it in a condensed form which is (hopefully) to the point and accurate. It's not a classroom replacement, it's a supplement.

Wikipedia isn't a good learning resource for the layman. Wikipedia lays information out in the most technical form possible. It's meant to be reference.

Khan actually uses effective pedagogical methods to explain concepts.

It's better than classrooms IMO. You can actually rewind when you missed a point instead of being hopelessly lost for the rest of the lecture. I liked the story where a teacher had people watch the Khan videos for homework and used classroom time to answer questions and to work through problems as groups. Classroom time ought to be interactive.

Not all classroom time. Lecture has its place, but oftentimes it is overused in the classroom, especially at the higher levels...

I've used some of his videos for my students before. They were quite helpful.

Lecture has its place.. but it's so much better in video form...

The only lecture I would consider useful is the ones that does demonstrations, such as in physics.
