Stepford Wives inconsistencies *spoilers inside*

Are the stepford wives robots, or just women with chips in their brains?

The video with Mike in it explains the process as chip implants, and at the end, the women rebel once the chips are turned off, leading one to believe they're not machines.

Yet, during the movie, Bette Midler is fireproof, women spit money out of their mouths, shoot sparks, and we see a robotic body of Joanna.

So are the stepford women replaced with robotic versions of themselves, or do they just have chips implanted?

its just chips implanted or at least thats what happens at the end because they just change back... plus you have spoliers in your title.

What a freaking great movie though!

This must be a remake of the original movie. I don't recall a lot of that.

But fireproof hands? Money out of their mouths? The fake joanna body?

I know what you mean, not to mention the fake gay guy body as well... but at the end they just malfunction and change back... its just a movie so I really dont care about plot holes...
