I've been seeing a lot of adds in magazines for Steinhausen watches, in particular that you can now buy a remake of a 1922 design that is super rare, ect. ect. I was wondering if anyone here actually owns one and what they are like. One of these days I'm buying an Omega Speedmaster, but I need the dough first ;)

It's junk. Made in China, complete with cheap Chinese movement. I think I've seen one of the ads. Same watch that has been marketed under other names with made-up historic significance.

Save your money.

Always amazed at the number of people here who aspire to own an Omega, nice watches don't get me wrong but just something with this community and that brand seems interesting..however with that said as JW pointed out they are absolute Junk, much like those other crap brands you see in skymall catalogs or other back of magazine ads....I mean heck you can get them online for $14, to me that says alot.

If you want a nice lower cost watch check out Invicta, can get great deals on them via ebay and or the net....

good luck.

I don't plan to buy one, I was just interested...they look like shite and I believe they are made in China. I like the speedmaster for its looks and the fact that it was on the Moon is pretty cool ;)

actually interesting to note, but the model sold as the "moon" watch is not the exact model that was worn for the moon missions, they changed the movement in the watch and a few other design aspects, I don't believe the current movement ever went through NASA testing, not 100% sure though.
