Steinberg's Cubase VST32 v5.0 and Win XP?

Hi. I am having some serious issues with Cubase VST32 v5.0 as it won't run in Windows XP Pro. I am getting the following error message on start-up:

"The procedure entry point SMapsLS_LP_EBP_12 could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL21.dll"

Any one experienced something similar or are sitting in with a solution to fix this problem?
It would be a damn shame if I was forced to go back to Windows ME to use this program (or dual-boot for that matter...).
