i own 2003 hond accord and about 2 month ago my dealer change my front brakes after 6300 miles for free as a good will. Now i have 9300 on my odometer and the wheel is shaking again so basically front brakes are bad. Do you guys think that the dealer will want to charge me for the front brakes after only 3000 miles on it?

They should, especially since Hondqa North America should be very aware that many cars are experiencing this problem.

Tell them that's BS, and that many cars are experiencing the same problem. If the service advisor does not do anything, go to his boss, and if nothing happens after that, contact the dealership's owner, call honda's customer service line, or try another dealership.

good will my ass.... it's a warranty issue and they need to fix it.. end of story. stick to it until you get it fixed right. brakes should last at least 30-40k miles

That is what I say, luckily for them that time they just replaced it with out making any big deal about it. Will find out tomorrow how it will go but I have a feeling I will have to talk to the supervisor before it get resolved. This is the dealership that takes all day just to do a simple oil change, maybe I should just go to another Honda dealership. Will that dealership have access to my car history record?

If your dealer refuse to fix it, contact Honda corporate office direct and explain your situation and believe me things get fix really fast.

i love hondas, but if there's one thing they will never get right, it's brakes. those pieces of crap will warp if you look at them funny.

hold on a sec.... damn, my 91 accord just warped the rotors again because it heard me talking bad about it. ;)

not to mention, 223 feet to stop from 70 MPH is just plain scary. i'm in danger of rear-ending practically every car on the road because even sport utility boats can stop faster than i can. methinks honda needs to do a little deal with brembo.

They have - the 2004 Acura TL has them (the model with the wheel package). There's a serious flaw in the accords that causes the sterring wheel to vibrate at high speeds, they might blame it on the brakes, but I'd wager to bet that it's MUCH more than that.

If the wheel shakes when you are NOT braking then it can't be the brakes. Then I would look at things like alignment, tie rod ends, other suspension parts, etc. You haven't specified in your posts, so that's a big IF. Please be more specific.

Why the hell did he change them in the first place? Brake pads should be good for tens of thousands of miles. But yes, go back in there and say it didn't shake before and now it does and they need to fix it. You shoudln't have to pay for anything.

Should tell you the nightmare I had with my Toyota's E-brake. Had to get the e brake and back rotors replaced that cost a pretty penny. But even then I heard screeches and loud irritant sounds coming from the back tires. Turns out I stretched the brake lines. Jap cars and their expensive parts.

the reason that i changed them in the first place is that my steering wheel was shakign when i was breaking at high speed which they diagnosed as brake problem

man, glad I didn't go with another honda.
they're so damn fussy about warranty service.

the lexus dealership just gets it done without any hassel.

if they make a fussy it doesn't matter, as I can always just call the 1800 # and talk to their customer service line.

It'll get done one way or another, so there is no point of making such a big fuss about it. If they do, it's a strike on their dealership ;)

A few question, this "problem" you are talking about, what is it? My 96 accord's steering wheel will shake sometimes while I'm driving, the rest of the car doesn't, just the steering wheel. My car is well maintained, and I haven't ever really thought anything of it (it is only a slight vibrating) is that something I should worry about? I've never mentioned it when I take it in for service.

My mother had a 99 or 00 Accord that the brakes went bad on in 18,000 miles. The dealership gave her a way to contact Honda corporate about it and they ended up giving us about half off the new brakes. Honda seemed pretty reasonable about this. Try corporate if your dealer wont do anything.

well i just drop the car off, and it seems i will have fight on my hand. The guy that took my problem said he saw brakes go bad after just 3000 miles, stated it all depends on breaking style.
