Background info:
2004 Acura TSX, auto, 151k miles, original owner, well taken care of.

Within the last month, I've noticed a knocking sound/feeling while turning the steering wheel and braking at low speeds. Anyone have any idea what this is? What am I looking at in terms of repair $?

I do plan on driving this car into the ground. It still runs perfectly, no other issues, ice cold A/C, etc. However, I'd really not prefer to put any money into the car repairing it other than normal maintenance since we're planning on buying a minivan within the next year or so.

On our Chevy we get that from time to time. Hard to compare different brands/models.

On the chevy, it ends up being one or combination of the following.

- Intermediate steering shaft needed lubrication (was most common until dealer replaced steering column with new one that must have had a new design as part of a fix)

- The lower links down near the front wheels. Either they are worn or one is bent. Pretty simple fix as the part is easy to get at and I believed hooked into the sway bar/steering rack.
