SteelSound 5H Headset - Microphone Static and generaly not working good - Need help

Just today, I received my Steel Pad 20060 5H Gaming Headset from newegg (LINK: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16836509102 ) I have to say, im satisfied when it comes to its sound. But everyone complains about the microhpone, and am unable to use it in Ventrilo / Teamspeak. It makes HORRIBLE static noises and at different times people say it sounds like something is being blown into the mic. Anyone have any experience in fixing these types of problems?
 
I have been over and over and over again. Making sure my headset is the selected device, running through the volume control, etc... Anything in particular I should make sure is correct?
Few questions, though, should I enable "Microphone Boost"? or does anyone else have any suggestions?
 
i dont belive turning on microphone boost will help but you can try. Also i think i had this problem with one my other headsets in the past i solved it by selecting mute for the microphone in the volume control panel.
