I've always been a fan of Steel and Icemat, great gaming mousepads, headphones, mice. I was using a Icemat I-2 for awhile till I broke it which made me sad =( So I went back to my old Steel QcK cloth mat, well after running on glass with performance feet the cloth just felt EWW. So I finally went and found a place to get a Steelseries SX(aluminum) and it's insanely smooth the feel is slightly smoother than the I-2, but they're about on par with each other for surfaces and I recommend either, two of the best mousepads I've ever had the pleasure of gaming on.

Now onto the mouse. I decided to get rid of my mx518 after years of use, was good to me, but I wanted to try something new so I decided to pick up a Steelseries Ikari Lazer for 50 bucks. This mouse has 40,000 samples per second, 1-3200 dpi controllable by their software in 1 incriments and you can set a low and high(mine are 666low/1337high ya ya im lame but they actually work out pretty decently for me) This mouse has MORE glide than any I've ever used even my mx518 with aftermarket pads on it. The build quailty is AMAZING the buttons feel great, it takes bout a day or two to get used to the shape but it's actually quite comfortable. The cord is nice and long and covered in like a weave material. High quailty and great feel.

The combination of the Steelseries SX + the Ikari are amazingly smooth and it just glides you don't feel any resisitance it's so amazing. I highly recommend either product to someone looking for a performance mouse/mousepad setup to do some hardcore gaming with.
