I'm planning to buy a gaming mouse and I'm thinking of getting the Ikari coz I haven't tried it before.. I've been to logitech g5 and sold it. Bought a Razer Copperhead but I don't like the feel.. Feels like cheap and its not durable.. Which do you think is better Ikari Laser or Logitech G5 V.2? Are they just the same with size? I'm a girl gamer.. I play Counter-Strike: Source and Counter-Strike 1.6.. Any advice and reviews?

I did a lot of research on the Deathadder, G9, and Ikari Laser before finally going with the Deathadder. All the reviews on the Ikari mouse were very positive, with the one consistent negative comment being that because of the shape of the mouse it was difficult to pick up off the mouse pad. I, personally, rarely pick my mouse up, so it wouldn't bother me, but if your a person who lifts the mouse off the pad regularly, than you might find it not as suitable to your needs as another choice.

I never tested it, but from what I read, the shape of the base (IIRC) of the mouse makes it difficult to grip when trying to lift it.

Don't go with the Ikari (or any Steelseries product) unless you don't mind the fact that they have no customer support, and there are numerous reports of problems with double-clicking problems with them, as I recently found out myself. My Ikari's mousewheel recently started sending multiple clicks every time I click it. So doing something like trying to open a link in a new tab will more often than not open anywhere from 2 to 10 tabs for that link. This happens in any browser, and even in games. So it's definitely a problem with the mouse. Wish I'd read these reports before buying.

I created an account on their site, and whenever I try to go to the form for asking a question or requesting an RMA, it automatically logs me out of the site. They don't respond to emails either apparently. I loved the mouse up until it started driving me insane with this problem. I just hate the company for being completely unresponsive to problems.

Use IE on their support site. I had the same problem with logging in w/ Chrome. Got a response within 24hrs.

p.s. what's the point of your necro? Are you on a crusade? From your posts it looks like you can't get anything to work, why blame SteelSeries?

I tried using IE. Same result.

As to the two posts, of course I blame Steelseries. Their mouse is the problem. After doing some searches I see that many others have reported almost identical problems with the Ikari. I feel I should warn others that their site doesn't work, and that they don't respond to emails. This is something I would have liked to have been told before I bought this mouse. For a company selling rather expensive, if nicely designed, products, their support is absolute crap. This is no vendetta. Just a warning to those who might be considering purchasing from them. I ran across these threads as I was searching around looking for info on mice since I have to figure out what to buy now that this one is history.

As for me not being able to get anything working, I have no idea what you're talking about. Your link doesn't return any results for me. I assume it's a link to my posting history. Not sure what you're trying to show by that either. I've had some strange hardware failures over the years. Usually fixed by replacing the defective part. Since this mouse is no longer under warranty, that's not an option.

My Ikari just broke, started double-clicking. However, their support was fast and friendly - I opened a ticket and got a response the next day. Unfortunately, I was out of warranty so they couldn't do anything about my mouse.

Hey Danse,

I'm a member of the SteelSeries support crew. Have you filed a support ticket with us recently? We recently changed our support website, so I'm guessing you may have had difficulty logging in.

Please drop an email to support@steelseries.com and we'll fix you right up?

~Regards,

I had the same exact problem a while back and have seen similar complaints at Hardforum. It's not uncommon with Steelseries support. My half dead Ikari which isn't exactly cheap is still sitting on a shelf for some reason. It's no longer under warrenty but was when I started two tickets with Steelseries that were never responded to.
