Steelcase Leap vs Herman Miller Aeron

i've sat in the Aeron and didn't find it all too comfy but everyone says it's the greatest chair in the world.
I like the Steelcase here at work better.

Why are the HM Aeron's so highly recommended? does it take time for you body/back to adjust to?

I personally love the Steelcase Leap (v1 and v2). I haven't tried the Aeron.

They're both god damn expensive, but I sat in an HM while at a client and I'd love to have one. Haven't experienced the steelcase.

Otherwise, probably depends on whether you sat on the model that fits you. I know the HM comes in several varieties for different leg lengths and stuff. Then there is always the "some people are different."

I got two of these at home for me and misses at $115 each and they're comfy enough. At one HM or Steelcase, I could get 4 of these for home and work for me and the misses.

Aerons are overrated and not as ergonomic as they often get credit for.

Unfortunately I've never sat in a leap. Based on the pictures, I'd be curious how comfortable the arms are over time and if there is enough padding. I'd also be concerned about the seat padding over time...it looks incredibly thin. And if it's memory foam, it will be very comfortable but won't last long.

I have this one, which is basically the same chair, except for some more padding and leather on the arms, as obama and bush use(d) in the oval office. Most comfortable work chair I've ever sat in.

ive tried both, the leap is so mechanical it's not even close to aeron. if the aeron is not comfortable for you, try a different size and one with the add on lumbar support.

I work in a 7x24 office and there's nothing we get more feedback on than the chairs that people sit in.

A few years ago we brought in a couple of Aeron chairs as an experiment. The initial reaction to a mesh chair was negative, but over time more and more people started using them. The Aerons are now the favorite chairs in the office. We have also found they they are extremely durable and easy to care for.

That doesn't mean that we don't also have a few Steelcase chairs too!

I sit in an Aeron every day at work. Comfy, but not $800 of my own money comfy. Though I do prefer the mesh to some kind of plush cushion.

I have an Aeron and love it, but if I've ever sat in a Steelcase Leap it was only for a few minutes at the store.

My old chair was giving me tremendous back pain, mostly because the back and seat were locked at a specific angle and could not move independently of each other. This forced me to either sit at that angle or slouch. Replacing it with an Aeron relieved my back pain almost immediately. The 12 year warranty makes the price much more attractive.

The warranty is not valid if the chair is not purchased from an authorized reseller. You may or may not be able to get around that restriction, I have no idea.

i have a steelcase leap at my current job for the last 2 years and before that I had an aeron chair for the prior 2.5 years.

i personally prefer the aeron chair if it is sized appropriately. so much so that I would already have one at home if my roomate didn't have a cat that I'm sure would attack the mesh.
