Ever since Counter-Strike 1.4 came out and this STEAM software setup idea was being mentioned, I have been wondering exactly what it is. I read about it and how it automatically sends the software to your computer, ie. no updating by yourself, its all automatic. Does anybody have a more detailed description of it...I would like to understand it a bit more. Thanks

Not really. STEAM is used to send a 500MB cached file to your computer for the beta versions for testers (I was a 1.4 beta tester). STEAM was also used for beta of DMC and TFC, and I believe, if not already so, for 2.0.
