do games lag on this program no matter what????

i recently upgraded my pc, it has everything imaginable, why the fck won't it work?????????


my conclusion - Steam sucks, prove me wrong

What game you're trying to play and what is your system spec.?

Lag? During games? Net play? Steam is a distribution system, not a game engine.

It has nothing to do with games lagging, and regardless works very well. I've never had a problem attributed to Steam except when the servers were down temporarily.

exactly. Steam has had no impact on the games for me, other than the servers

Be more descriptive with your problem(s). I've never had a problem with Steam... I think it's a great idea and pretty well executed (been using it since Half-Life 2 first came out).

Steam works beautifully for me. Open all the right ports.

Its not Steam. Its a PEBKAC.
I just used it this morning. Updated all my games and played a round of HL2 deathmatch and CounterStrike with about 10 people.
No problems.
