steam wont send me my verification code

i have requested it 4 times over the past 30 minutes and not one email. how long does it usually take to get a verification code to reset password through email?

Are you sure it's not a different email? The verification code only takes about 10 seconds to show up.

Perhaps you changed email addresses and didn't update your account?

I've noticed that recently it took a really long time for them to send the email out. Maybe it was the email provider that was slow?

It has taken over an hour for me a couple of times!

That happened to me once. Sometimes their authentication server goes down or doesn't function properly, so it takes much longer for the code to be sent..

You'll get it eventually though.

The last time it happened to me, it was because someone stole my account. Check if the account has had any activity on it while you were away, then go about the process of getting your account back.

Maybe they found out who you were.
