Steam Weekend Deal: Mount & Blade 85% Off

I thought Mount and Blade had potential, when I played the beta for it a couple years ago. The combat system was fun... but it was totally lacking environment or NPC's

Played the demo, I liked the melee combat on the horse I was rolling over looters haha.

Could go either way with this, I think I might purchase it though. Apparently the game has an incredible mod community and have done tons of stuff with the game.

Came across a post on the devs forum that has a list of some of the completed mods broken down into sections. After browsing through it, I decided to buy the game. Some of the mods look pretty impressive, and I figure for $5 it really is hard to go wrong since I enjoyed the demo mostly.

Here is a link to the thread if anyone else is interested. http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,44196.0.html

Didn't get many more in the final. Still, people make neat mods for it. Also, the game is addicting in a world of warcraft sort of way, you'll get at least a few hours out of it I think. It's mostly frustrating and glitchy though, I lost a few hours of play in a crash, and gave up o nit.

I played about 10hrs of it. It's definitely an interesting game. Get to make your own choices of helping out people. The only reason why I'm not playing it any more is cus better games came out and need to catch up but I'm sure I'll play it again later. I'm not ganna say it's revolutionary but the way it's played is very unique.

$5 is probably the fair price for it IMO, $30 is very overpriced. I'd recommend it if you are bored and looking for something to do, but otherwise if you have games waiting on your list I would skip it. The combat from horseback is amusing enough but it gets boring and there really isn't any other draw since every village/town is practically the same.

M&B is definitely worth $5. There are mods that take the original game far beyond its start with many improvements and additions. I think M&B Warband was suppose to release next month but I haven't looked at their website to get an update for a while now. Something I need to do.

PLayed through it once. Then moved on before I got going on a second game. It doesn't really end but you get to the point where you have a bunch of cities and there isn't much more to do. You kind of have to set your own goals after awhile since the stuff in there is limited. The quests can get repetitive but the game is well worth $5. I got in somewhere between 80-100hrs I would guess on my first character.
