Probably celebrating the end of the real F1 season.

You're probably right. Gonna be time to tackle the campaign in the off season. Since the game's release I've just been doing time trial mode to learn the current track.

Great deal on Risen. If you liked the Gothic games, this is it's spiritual successor. (and a fun and challenging game in it's own right)

It's a steal at $15.

Kind of want both... How realistic is F1 2010 (compared to, say, iracing)?

And, how would Risen compare to games like Oblivion or Dragon Age (opposite ends of the RPG spectrum as far as I'm concerned)?

Just bought F12010, what a piece of shit, nevermind the fact that it's consolified to hell (I knew that anyway) which just makes it even worse. Save yourself the heartache over a waste of money and go pick up rfactor instead.

Let's just say they obviously weren't going for realism here. I spent about 2 mins trying with everything I had to make the red bull spin out but it just wouldn't, that's with no driver aids on.

Drive a lotus and see how easy it is to drive that dog of a car.

Sweet deal for F1. I haven't played any hardcore racing sims, but F1 is about as realistic and difficult as I'd want a racing game to be for a casual racing gamer. One tiny little screw up and your race is basically over. Can get frustrating.

Will be buying this though, have enjoyed the "demo"

F1 isn;t real life difficult, but i see iRacing like Arma, too masochistic for the sake of realism.

I had a lot of fun with F1 2010. I'm not very good but driving thr Virgin or Lotus is still fun in career mode even if i struggle to do well in races and finish consistently mid-pack except for damn street courses(much better than Virgin or Lotus could ever hope to do in real life).

Also career>time trial/individual GP races. TT gives you optimum conditions, all research upgrades, perfectly sticky track, perfect tire conditions and no fuel simulation. There are bugs still like fuel sim affecting only your car (opponent AI cars alway seem to run on 1 lap fuel and as such are always faster at beginnings of races) and suspension settings being too soft(a problem that was encountered in GP Legends and NFS Shift, both later patched), but Codemasters seems good about patching issues quickly. Tire wear, opponents screwing you in qualifying, poles in Yas Marina sometimes demolish your car like running into a brick wall and other various bugs have already been patched quite quickly.

Well, I've been playing F1 2010 since it came out. F1 games are mostly made for F1 fans, but if you like F1 I'll definatelly recommend you this one! For me, the best F1 I have played! (for me, much better than GP2,GP3,GP4, rFactor,GPL,F1 2006)

You'll get what F1 is all about... making laps and consistently improve your times by 0.1s or 0.2s, trying to be regular, taking 5 or 6 laps to attempt an overtake.

I know some ppl will talk about rFactor, but as Anthony Davidson (F1 2010 team development, former F1 driver, F1 test pilot):

AD:'' Lots of people have asked me if it's rFactor, is it incredibly hard or is it like the real thing? 'Am I just going to spin in the pit garage because that's what I want because I'm so hardcore.' Well, no your not because this is such a mass market game and that doesn't happen in real-life. You wouldn't jump in the car and spin coming out of the garage''

'' For instance the Mercedes simulator back in the Brawn days, when we were in first development Rubens, Jenson and myself, we used it a lot, me more-so than them. They would come into the sim after driving a car, and be spinning around all over the place and would complain, saying 'This isn't realistic, what are we doing?''
