When executing Steam with Windowsonecare on, my Intel HT CPU shows 50% usage. It appears that the file mpEng.exe will do this if the Windowsonecare Antivirus is ON. A temp workaround is to disable the Windowsonecare Antivirus proggy while using Steam. If anyone else has a better fix, let me hear it please.

I haven't found this to affect me. Windows OneCare Live Beta and Steam coexist on my laptop.

Mango,
My problems started after the last update a few days ago, is your sys still doing ok after a new update ? If so, I will have to rethink this problem out...heh...why can't these type problems go away after a simple reboot like they are supposed to...have I been spoiled by a trouble free sys for about 6 mos...guess so...sorta got used to it...liked it to.
