Steam Screenshots Feature Now Available

http://store.steampowered.com/news/5047/

Awesome feature, Xfire had this, but no where to store screenshots. Now I don't have to create an account on photobucket or whatever to show off screenshots.

I hope they don't compress them when you upload them.

with only 1GB of steam storage, their claim doesn't suggest lossless screen caps for any sort of modern resolution when they suggest it will store "thousands" of pictures

that doesn't mean they'll be compressed to hell, but I'd wager it will be average jpg compression and not png, at least by default

Screenshots don't work with SimCity 4... There's something bizarre about this game. Even EVGA Precision can't screenshot it.

Edit: Oh wait, I have F12 remapped to volume+ in Windows.... can't find a way to remap Steam's screenshot key

Wow! Now I can take a screenshot of me shooting something! Or when I am reloading! Or when I am clicking around on the options screen! Or when I solve a puzzle!

Every single one of my 342 friends on Facebook will be so JEALOUS!

Anyone else having trouble uploading to the steam cloud?

EDIT: Working now

It only works in fullscreen games, or at least it wasn't working in windowed mode in VVVVVV for me.

IIRC, the game has to be DX8/9 or higher for the screenshot feature to work (or something to that effect).

A few indie and older games don't work with the screenshot tool.

pretty neat :

With 1GB of personal Steam Cloud storage, you can upload thousands of screenshots to show off your best moments for all your friends to see. Or you can make them private if you'd rather keep them to yourself.
