Figured it would be worth another post just to see what other people were getting and there thoughts on the game/price they paid for it. They are scattered through the steam sale topic, so I thought we could distill them down to here and just update/edit posts as we purchase more games!

Torchlight - 4.99
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic - 4.99
The Witcher Enhanced Edition - 13.59
Zombie Driver - 2.49
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - 1.99
Killing Floor - 4.99
Evil Genius - 2.49

Ugh...Update 12-30-09
Civ IV Complete Pack -13.60
The game and all 3 expansions...how could I resist?

Edit 12-31-09
Crysis Wars added... -13.59
So far all games were easily worth more than I paid for them in terms of enjoyment. The Witcher doesn't seem to really catch my style in terms of gaming..but I'm sure I'll get my money's worth out of it.

Total Spent thus Far ~63.00

I bought around 10 great games for less than $40 total. Some games were ridiculously cheap. Sure it was a pain because the servers were maxed out over the holidays, but that was a small price to pay for the amount of gaming value I received for the money. I think my best buy was GTA4 for like ~$4.25.

Witcher
Defense Grid
Bioshock

and I bought the THQ pack a couple weeks ago.

I also bought L4D2 for $29.99 about the time the Steam sales started... so I have been quite busy with games.

Nothing. I don't pay real money for permission to access a digital copy of a game.

Though KOTOR...hmm...will it even work in Vista 64?

Crosspost from the Steam sale thread.

Purchases to date and thoughts:

Tropico 3 - Great city simulation game, easily worth $20 if you're into this genre.

Universe at War - Decent enough RTS for just $5.

Mirror's Edge - I only spent $5 but have realized through playing it I would have spent more. I just hope they make combat better/more interesting in the sequel.

Stalker: SoC - Couldn't pass this up for $2 based on lots of suggestions to get it. But I haven't played this much so no judgement yet.

The Void - Wow. If you haven't bought this yet, you should. Old school adventure style game (as in, you start the game with n knowledge and have to learn everything - or look it up) with some interesting visuals. The entire concept is very original and worth the $10 I spent. There's a reason this game was originally called Tension when it was released - everything including time itself is working to defeat you. Do not expect your typical hand-holding game.

Total spent = $26.97

PS: King Arthur: The Role-Playing Wargame is easily worth $20 for any fan of the Total War games. IMHO, they actually do a better job and with far less bugs than Creative Assembly does with TW!

I bought this one but stopped playing. I think the game is interesting and like the RPG type elements. However, I thought the combat was vastly inferior to TW combat. I'll probably dive back into it at some point as it was a decent enough game but it wasn't at the same level, IMO.

I remember playing Evil Genius a few yrs ago and it was horribly unstable. How does the Steam version perform? I always liked the concept (and music!) of that game :)
