just got my 1st email 😀 bravo sir, bravo

EDIT: it would be pretty cool if you could set a price to be emailed at. For instance, Dead Island is on sale now for ~$20. It would be even better if i could put in a price say $10, and if the price drops to 10 or low, then send an email.

gj thus far though. it's certainly a HUGE improvement over nothing at all

ockky - thanks for update. Good to hear it's working.
I'm a day away from having "strike price" in.
Check back later tonight to adjust any games you have being watched.

Can we expect the Holiday sale to be as big as the last day of Black Friday?

I've also started doing more data tracking.
For the last 10 days, this is how many unique games per day are on sale.

Very interested in your Steam sale email reminder, CuriousMike.

Currently, I'm using both Steam Alerts and Unofficial Steam Daily Deals Feed to keep an eye on things.

Having a very low-end cell, I've set up gmail to forward these alerts to my phone. The (SMS) messages are text-based only. Thus, any fancy formatting, excessive spacing, and ALL images are a waste of memory that I'm stuck paying for each time I request the next page of the alert!

What I'm wondering is … how brief are your alert messages? Also, can I easily opt out of your service if I change my mind?

P.S. … You need to put a title on your nice website!

P.P.S. … I don't think it's necessary to be checking the Steam site for current specials EVERY HOUR! Steam sales begin predictably at the start of their working day (about 10:00 EST) … Perhaps check again a couple times hourly after that just in case the servers are over-taxed or the specials are a late-posting.

1. Unfortunately, my alerts are pretty plain.
Example:
Subject:
Just Cause 2 is on sale.
Body:
This is a message to let you know Just Cause 2 is on sale at Steam.
Link: http://store.steampowered.com/app/8190/?snr=1_7_7_204_150_1
Original Price 14.99
Sale Price 5.09
You will not be notified again unless you visit www.coustier.com and modify your game tracking list.

I like your idea of adding an image into the email.
I don't have an option for deleting an account or freezing it - I need to do that.
However, you could simply DELETE any games you are tracking, and you'd receive no notifications.

2. What do you mean put a title on it? I've added the normal <title></title> to it.

3. Steam is predictable for their daily or weekly or weekend sales. However, when actual new releases hit at some % off, those are not part of the normal sales. Part of my project is data collection, and this lets me know when a new title is released. On average, 4-5 new releases per week show up "on sale", but they're not part of the normal daily/weekly/weekend sales timing. i.e., new releases aren't necessarily listed on sale as part of the normal 10a.m. flow.

Looks solid, unfortunately I'm pretty sure I've bought almost everything on steam I want already lol until Skyrim is down to $10 territory

Been waiting awhile to catch Gish on sale...got me yet another game i wont be playing thx to your app. probably wouldn't have caught it since i dont check steam everyday

Great to hear it's working as intended.

I sorta wish I hadn't started it, because I'm now buying more games than ever.

🙂
