Why watch any old movies, read any old books or drink any old wines...

Because that's a totally different thing. I doubt you would play a first Doom, but would watch an old movie, wouldn't you? I understand that some people jump on these deals just to increase the Steam library portfolio.

I still play the first Doom, many do, even has mods still being done for it.

You underestimate the PC gaming community severely.

Well it must suck to be you and not be able to play great games just because they're old.

Is it just me or I think these deals aren't great at all? I mean, if it would be a new game, then yeah, but these games are old and you probably never going to play it, so why is this considered a good deal?

It is just you. I finally played Half-Life 1 for the first time last year, and enjoyed it.

It's too bad that you can only enjoy the shiny new stuff, you're missing out on a lot of good gaming.

mmm halflife. I occasionally start hl1 and keep playing to hl2ep2

I think I play the whole series once a year

That seems to be a trend with kids growing up gaming in the Halo era.

You can't truly appreciate modern day gaming, without taking it back occasionally, to appreciate the path it came from.

I finally sat down to play HL1 last year as well. Good stuff, I can see how it was great for it's time.
Started working on one of the expansions, but then got screwed on quicksave/load buttons being next to each other. Not being able to remap them is not cool. 🙁
