Steam Questions

Sorry for posting these here. Everytime I try to search the Steam Forums for ANYTHING I get a "Web page not found" error in my web brower.

I'm hoping these are easy questions to answer:

1) How do I delete a game from the game library? I don't mean unistall, I mean delete. For example, I received a free copy of Half Life 2 Team Deathmatch awhile back. I didn't realize that was multiplayer. I don't do multiplayer. I want it gone - out of my library. How?

2) My son and I use the same desktop computer. Different User Accounts. We both purchased Torchlight during the Steam sale. Will Steam install this game twice on our computer?

3) Is there anyway to delete Steam achievements? I was messing around with Defense Grid: Awakening before Christmas. I earned a few achievements. But now I want to start completely over and fully dive into this game (yeah, I'm obsessive).

Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer any or all of these!

It will not install the game twice, if you have steam set up to use the same steam folder.

You can choose steam just to show the games you have installed, so if you un-install and hide the fact that you own the game.

1. Uninstall it and then delete the folders from the steamapps folder?

2. No idea. Probably not.

3. In TF2 you can reset your achievements from in-game, so I would assume it should be the same for this. It's on the main screen before you into the game; view achievements, then reset.

i think he means from the games list. no way to completely remove it from the list. not sure why you'd even want to do this?

I received two free games during some promo Steam had awhile back....I don't remember what it was. They are both Half Life 2 multiplayer games. I don't play multiplayer games....I'm a single campaign kind of guy (basically I don't enjoy getting my ass kicked by teenagers who have 50 hours a week to play and practice....I'm lucky if I get an hour a night to play video games).

It used to be no big deal. But now that I went nuts on games during the Steam sale, I've got a lot of games and I'd rather not have these two games taking up space in the game library when I'm NEVER going to play them. Not really a big deal, but I figured it would be pretty easy to delete from you library.

Thanks! I was hoping that was the answer!

Another option for hiding games you don't like is to mark the games you do like as favourites and setting Steam to show only your favourites. Also, just marking a game as a favourite will move it to top of the list into a seperate category, which can be collapsed.

Because my OCD blood boils every time I see that "Counterstrike Beta" thing in my games list.
