STEAM PROBLEMS!!!!

Just needed somewhere to vent and here that im maybe not alone in HATING STEAM. I am tempted to return hl2 because of it. I tryed to install it on my new system and it says my key is already in use and i cant do it, so i uninstalled it from my first system and tried again... now all i have is a $50 game i cant play right now. And i cant seem to find 1 number to get ahold of Steam and the only fix I have seen involves sending them my cd key and $10.... complete BS. Even though it had its troubles i think battle.net was my fav online gaming experience thus far.
