Has anyone had any problems installing steam games with multiple discs. I am installing orange box on a new computer and it is hanging up everytime it asks to insert disc 2. The steam program freezes and says 'not responding'. any ideas?
 
I have the newest version of the Steam client. Restarting computer didnt help. Uninstalling and reinstalling didnt help. I installed as much as I could from the first cd now I'm downloading the rest of orange box through steam online. Its taking forever tho 🙁 sigh
 
That stinks.Maybe you got a bad disk?Can you take it back to where you bought it and ask them for another copy because you got a bad disk?

That may be faster than waiting for a download.
 
This is why Multiple Disk installs suck. Probably your Drive having a problem reading the disk for some reason.

Disabling/Shutting Down apps like Virtual Daemon or other Virtual Disk capable apps is worth a try as well.
