Steam Midweek Madness: Batman Arkham Asylum GotY Edition 50% off

Kickass game, worth way more than $20, for those who are on the fence.

And that's coming from an oldschool gamer bitter about the crappy consolized shit we get nowadays.

may want to look into the drm on this (from memory of previous discussion)

It comes with a machine-deactivator and you get like 13 concurrent installs or something like that anyways through GFWL.

The game is freaking amazing.

Uses SecuROM with a 4 machine activation limit. That's why I didn't buy Arkham the last time Steam put it on sale, even if there's a deactivator. HDDs crash. Plus the whole principle of it.

Awesome game - I have it on steam but got the console version as well - because it's that good but meant to be played on a console w/ a joypad in hand, IMO.

Damnit, I didn't realize there's securom on this thing - my google-fu is weak, can someone post a link to the deactivator for this please?

It's in the tools section under the Library tab in steam.

Edit: that's assuming you bought it under steam.

Really is a great game. And I controlled awesome with mouse and keyboard I thought. All these third person games still benefit from the mouse as far as I'm concerned.

I got an xbox 360 controller for it and everything... and about halfway through the game, I lost interest. I just feel so cannalized, like there's only one way through, I have to do what they want me to do when they want me to do it, etc. I want a little more freedom as Batman.

Hmm. I'm way behind on games...is it worth picking up for later?

Definitely. It sorta plays like a Metroidvania game where you slowly build up your abilities throughout the game. There's also a dash of stealth as you try to eliminate a room of baddies without being detected, and there's a puzzle to solve in nearly every room.

Admittedly, I'm not a huge fan of Batman, but Arkham Asylum is one of the best games I played last year. Definitely give it a try.

The only reason this didn't win more awards is because Uncharted 2 was so awesome. This was a seriously good game. Even if you aren't really into batman all that much this game is great.

Bought it last time it was on sale, and still haven't played it. My backlog of "to play" games is getting quite long...

Got the non-GOTY edition during the holiday sale when it was $25.

Are the DLC packs worth it? The first one was free but the last ones are 240 points on GFWL marketplace.

Sigh....bought it. I have no willpower. It's added to my list of steam games that I haven't played.

My games list gets bigger and my bank account smaller.

I'll probably get around to playing it in 2012.
