Ahhhhh, how I enjoyed Borderlands! I think the MP is only really fun when playing with friends, though.

I might have to pick this one up finally.

Are the DLC worth it? Which are the best?

This is actually Borderlands right? I've been wanting to play it for a while, so I may need to pounce here. :hmm:

What does the DLC consist of? Is it necessary to fully enjoy the game?

The DLC is really just extra stuff. The original game is plenty long (you wont reach max level until about 1/2-2/3 of the way through your 2nd playthrough, and iirc a full playthrough is about 30 hours if you do everything) and very entertaining. The DLC's are mostly more of the same, with some new and better weapons, and a higher level cap.

The first (Zombie Island of Dr. Ned) and third (Secret Armory of General Knoxx) are the better ones, but the second one (Moxxy's Underdome) provides a bank for your characters that is pretty darn worthwhile. I've played through DLC1 and DLC3 but I've never touched DLC2 except for the bank.

Yea I might jump on this as well. It looked cool but didn't seem worth the full price of entry. At this price it seems good. The only thing that sucks is just like L4D, you need friends to play with or else it sucks so this might end up sucking as well for me.

Thanks guys. I think I'll just grab the original game.

Definitely was too costly for me before, but this is too good to pass up; been intrigued by it since release.

I enjoy the single player, but I'm also a person that has 12 80s in WoW.. so mindless, mundane things are my speed :p.

How is the single player for this?

Fun - but the areas are large/empty if you're not running around with friends. Plus, some of the boss fights are a bit annoying to solo.

It's definitely worth the discounted price they're asking for.

Should I start with singleplayer first or go straight into multi-play? If I level up in single play does it carry over to multi-play? Is this even good for low level people to play?

you can use your singleplayer char in multiplayer or your multiplayer char in singleplayer. I feel that low level char without any good weapons is a bit hard in the 4 players game (since enemy is much stronger), but you will get better loot in 4 players game.

I wouldn't say Moxxi's is imperative, but you definitely want Zombie Island & if you love collecting epic gunnery, you'll want Knoxx (my favorite DLC; i actually spend more time in it than in the main game).

Read another thread on this that said the steam dlc could only be used with a steam copy of the base game, oh well.

How is the multiplayer for this game. I've heard, when it was first release, that mp was broken. has it been fixed/ patched?

n7, do you find the bank in moxxi useful?

Already had Borderlands + Dr Ned and Knoxx.

Decided that it was time to add Moxxi to the collection. Not sure why but it's the price of a sandwich lunch here so why not? :)
