Steam is no longer useable

Recently I noticed that in STEAM, all fonts are completely gone from the menus. As in, all the menu buttons are there, but there is no writing!! I've completely removed it, and downloaded the newest version off the net and reinstalled. No dice. Anyone have any suggestions? I can't currently play games or download new ones off steam......

Tried it now and there's no problems. You should probably contact support at support.steampowered.com.

Seems fine for me. When you removed it, did you clear any leftover folders and/or registry entries?

Bingo. Uninstall doesn't remove Steam from your computer.

Ok, what's the best way for me to remove all remnants of steam after uninstall? I've used regedit, but don't know whereabouts all the steam entries would be...

Can you visit the webpages ok using IE? My understanding is that Steam still uses IE to render the pages.

Run the uninstaller, then delete its program directory and the left overs inside. I don't know exactly where Steam writes to the registry. You could search for 'Steam' and delete the values it finds, though a bit crude. Google 'Steam registry entries' I got a few hits on it.

In my opinion, using the Steam Support pages, FAQ's and Forum would be the most prudent and effective course of action in your situation.

Updating to XP SP3 helped steam for me, because it automatically updated IE for me. I have never used IE on my computer, and Steam would do the things you mentioned on occasion. It still does on occasion, but not as much as it used to.

You need to reinstall the steam font. Should take 15 seconds on google to get instructions.

I had spyware on my computer that caused this once, strangely enough. I ran spybot and adaware and it fixed it.

Steam has its own forum with its own helpdesk and its own support section.
