Steam has raised my wife's ire

She got me Baldur's Gate 3 + Deluxe DLC as a Christmas present, which I'm supposed to receive tomorrow except it sent me the DLC as a gift today which I can't accept because I don't have the main game

Seriously though it's a great game, my advice is not to look at any play throughs and live with your mistakes in it, lots more replay that way and sometimes "the wrong" outcomes lead to different adventures!

She likes to watch (certain) games with me, like XCOM2012 / XCOM2 / XCOM2WOTC, Witcher 3, Dragon Age Origins / Inquisition. It was picked to hopefully be more of the same.

Story time!

Knew a guy online who was pretty well off. He had Steam at the time and I didn't coz I wasn't working and couldn't afford to. I think this was in the 2000s before Steam sales were a thing. So he tells me one day that he's gotten married and I remark, "Your wife is not going to like your PC gaming" and he goes, "She's the type who likes to watch me play". I thought he was so damn lucky. Then his son was born and few months later, I ask him what game he is playing. His reply changed my mind on him being lucky. "I sold everything. My son and my wife are more important to me than gaming".

I mean, yeah, I see his point BUT

He was never a serious gamer. Just needed something to spend extra cash on.

My room mate in college got a super kick out of watching me play Metal Gear Solid. He didn't want to play it himself but he was like, what happens next???? I think I finished it for the dozenth time in 6 or 7 hours that day, just to show him what happens next.
