"Beginning at 4:00 am Pacific time Monday October 11th, we will be performing software maintenance on the Steam servers. We expect the resulting downtime to last four hours at most, putting the end of the window at 8:00 am Pacific time.

Some Steam services will be offline during this time. Affected services will include the Steam Community, in-game matchmaking or lobbies, downloading games from Steam content servers, and making purchases from the Steam store. Games that do not rely on Steam matchmaking services should remain playable.

We will work to make this downtime as short as possible. Thank you for your patience!"

so? are you really going to be playing games that rely on steam's matchmaking service at 4am? you can still start your games in offline mode.

Isn't that 7am EST?

A lot of .gov/contractors have off that day. Tried playing l4d2 the other night when they did maintenance and it's kind of lame because you only know about maintenance down times if you read their thread in the forums.

Well, it's a holiday on Monday here in Canada. BUT, servers being back before lunch EST, it's a non issue. Probably won't even be touching my PC before noon.
