If I have saved games with my Steam version of Fallout New Vegas and I purchase the Fallout New Vegas Ultimate, which is on sale right now on Steam, will it allow me to retain my saved games or does it treat it like a new game? Or, does it add all the expansions and DLC as separate downloads?

I would think they should work. The Ultimate edition is just the base game bundled with the DLC. Really is no different than purchasing all the DLC separately. You could try the Steam forums for the game and ask, they are generally helpful when it comes to questions like this.

You should be able to drag the save files from the FalloutNV folder located in documents\my games into the new Ultimate folder.

I don't know if the Ultimate install folder will have a different name, so you may want to copy the files elsewhere or rename the FalloutNV folder so those files don't get overwritten.

You should be good to go.

I don't know for sure as I only bought Ultimate and not the base version, but I would assume the Fallout New Vegas folder that was created in my Steam directory is the same name as the base game used. Ultimate is just the base game + the all the DLC bundled together. All the DLC does is add additional .esm and .bsa files (and other appropriate resources) to the game folder.
