If there's a Mass Effect day I'll probably get 1&2, since my 360 has crapped out.

Is 1 better on PC?

The controls are a bit better -- for example, you can map each of your own powers to a number key (but not your allies) and can switch weapons with the F keys. There are a bunch of performance issues and visual glitches, as it was a port of an Xbox game put together by a different studio than BioWare (Demiurge Studios). alent1234 is right that the Mako controls are a PITA, but I got used to them eventually.

Mass Effect 2 is a bit of a different deal. The controls are changed up -- now you can map both your powers and your squad member's powers to number keys, but switching weapons with F keys is gone. BioWare itself developed ME2 for PC and the 360 at the same time, so performance issues and visual glitches are majorly cut down compared to the first game.

SC4 is a still an amazing game with a huge community of people modding and adding buildings to it. I play this game a lot, way more than I should. I have a hard copy of it but I might pick up the steam version so I don't need the discs to install.

If I own sims 3 on disk. Can I tie that to my steam account somehow to allow me to get the DLC?

The Sims 3 sale is weak, 23.99 but it's 19.99 currently at EA Store. World Adventure is 9.99 at EA Store, 14.99 at Steam.

@boozie I was wondering the same thing as I got mine from D2D. The Steam page reads "requires the bast Sims 3 on Steam in order to play" so it sounds like you need the Steam version. If you own the disc it might be safer to go to EA Store as they are having some promo as well.

My understanding is that the Steam version of SC4 doesn't come with a key, so you can't go on EA's site and download custom maps from the user repository. Can anyone confirm or deny that?

2 of the best RPG's out there.. Drakensang is basicly DA before DA came out (combat wise at least) The Witcher is excellent.. if oyu can get past teh 12 year old sex stuff.. not that I mind it.. but you can really tell guys with no GF's made that game...

Thanks, I ended up passing on DA1 because of them. I just finished replaying BG2 and it's time to get back to a semi-current game next time I'm sick of LoL so I figure by the time I'm ready for DA it will be a $10 ultimate edition sale on steam. Plus I still have to get a second run through of PS:T in... there are too many good games and books keep eating into my gaming time =)

Sales of DA2 are bad in comparison to the original because EAware thought they could just ride out the pre-orders and appeal to buyers in other genres. The problem is when you forget your own fanbase, they don't recommend the game to their friends. Word of mouth has a huge impact on sales.

At this point DA2 will struggle to sell half as much as DAO.

Of course, EA will chalk this up as a success because they only had half the development time as the first...maybe this was their plan all along...

Hoping for Dead Space 2. I'm currently going through DS1 and it's a cool game. Required a little tinkering but now it works well.

Sims 3 is so overpriced still. God what a terrible game. It's like a rehash of a rehash or a rehash, selling for a high premium of $100

Wish I'd seen this. Been on Steam every day this week but never noticed the sales.
Assholes, they dont advertise very well at all.

Would have liked the old NFS games. I have Shift 2 and it sucks.

OK, plants vs zombies is cheap. $3.40.

Everything else I wanted has gone back to full price.

FUCK STICKS!
I never get in on the deals I really want.

I'm such a sucker I just grabbed Sim City 4 although my backlog is so long I'm pretty sure I have close to zero chance I'll be playing it this year.

I've been checking STEAM!

And didnt see shit.

Bastards.

All you need to do is click on the specials tab and it has everything. Also, top sellers. If there's a big sale, that usually hits top seller pronto.

but yeah, kaotik's threads are easier to see if you ask me. he always has everything. that fucker has cost me about a hundred bucks this year! :(

wow, you've missed out. but lol, that was also my first SC experience. SC 2000 was great.

SC 4 is amazing. you will be stunned if you haven't played since the first one. It will be a lot to take in
