Question Steam Download Setting/Changes

Did steam do something to the way the handle downloads that isn't reflected in the available settings options on the user side? Just went to update on one of my computers and it had about a dozen games to do but would only do them one at a time. Also it didn't do any until I forced them to update as they were all listed as scheduled at various times over the next two days.

As far as I know you've only been able to download 1 at a time. The queuing that they do has been that way for a long time. You can force them to update when you want though.

I could have sworn that there was a limit of like 3 at once before.

You can download multiple games at once, but you have to manually tell it to do so. I'm guessing it's similar to people who complain that you can't download a game while playing another, but you just have to alt-tab from the game, resume the download, then tab back to your game. Steam has become a little too complex (convoluted?) to do things automatically now, so just force it manually.

I have noticed the scheduled download times though and it's annoying, so I just browse the download manager and manually start them.
