Steam, doesn't install on sisters computer

Over here watching the cats while he is playing in the Rock and Roll hall of fame for the battle of the corporate bands, so I need something to do.

I tried to download steam so I could get episode 1 or 2 but I keep getting an error downloading steam. I think it was 1316 but not sure, anyways, why cant joe blo download steam?

I just want to have something to occupy my time for a few hours until I can get home. Any suggestions?

Where does the error appear? When steam is updating or when you first execute it after downloading?

Check to make sure that it is not already on the system in the add/remove programs, iirc ati drivers might place a link on the desktop and the user may have installed it already.
