Look up widescreen hacks or mods. I'm sure they exist.

The launcher does offer the available wide-screen modes, and the game launches and runs in these modes. However the angle-of-view is not correct. Basically the scene is stretched. I think it's still better than 1600 x 1200, but some may disagree.

Also, I had mouse lag issues that made the game unplayable. Researched these, and you just have to disable acceleration. I made a Setpoint profile and turned it off for the game exe, and the mouse works fine.

Last, there is an issue with the sounds for cut-scenes on Vista/7. Mostly, they don't work. Since the scenes are presented as a graphic novel you can of course read the dialog. There is a fix to supposedly get the sound working, but I haven't tried it because it requires a custom launcher.

There's been some good talk about The Last Remnant, but I'd really prefer it to be $10 since the demo didn't captivate me much.

Gamespot gives the PC version a much higher score than the 360 version. Has anyone played this on PC?

yeah i bought it last time it was on sale. it's a JRPG for the PC.

if you like JRPG's, it's worth it. the combat system takes a bit to figure out, but otherwise it's a pretty fun game IMO. you'll definitely sink a lot of time in it if you play the game.

awesome deal for a good and unrrated game.

If JRPG's are your thing, Last Remnant is right up your street.

Point to note: It's a Steam game. If you can find it in a store cheaper, that'd be a better bet.

If you are willing to learn the game and such, yes. It isn't a traditional MMO of any sorts. The Eve thread in this forum has good info and a few of us that play and can give advice and help you with questions if you do decide. If you aren't sure and have free time today, try the trail on the website first.

That $5 is only for 1 month. It will be 19.99/month after that.

$14.99 if you do monthly
If you are savvy and know how to make in game money then you can play the game for free buying game time with game currency. But that isn't an option for new people for awhile usually.

I'm actually messign with the idea of swapping off WoW till GW2 drops. I tried Rift when that was the DD and hated it. I might reinstall FFXI dunno Eve seems a bit too hardcore for me to goof off in for a few months than leave.

If you are looking to play just for a few months till GW2 hits, then I wouldn't suggest Eve then personally.

I'm pissed about Max Payne. I tried reinstalling them from disc a week ago and they didnt wanna work.
Had to buy steam editions for 15 bucks. I hate doing that for games I already own. Even worse when they go on sale the next day.

FACKERS!

Yeah, Eve is not for the impatient or those who simply want to pick up the game and play without reading/learning. The only thing that will happen to those kinds of people in Eve is that they get their ships blown up and then complain about not having any money and that this game sucks, and I hate you, why did you blow me up, etc., etc....

Well, for $5 it's much cheaper than, say, having your bank foreclose on your home, but it's roughly the same experience from what I've heard.

I had a corp mate who lost everything "IRL" because of Eve. So yea, it can cost much more than $5 ;)

Short version: His wife played Eve as well, she left him for someone she met on Eve and pretty much took everything.

That sucks, but it sounds like he's the winner in the long run. She could of stayed with him leeching his resources over the rest of his life.

Seems like MMORPG girls are always looking for a better raiding guild. ;)
